Before requesting SPSS analysis
Start with your research question and the structure of your data. Repeated measurements on the same participants need a different plan from comparisons between independent groups. The analysis should follow the study design and measurement process, rather than a choice of software menu.
What to prepare
- Describe your research questions, comparison groups and primary outcome.
- Provide variable definitions, units and category codes with your data; remove identifying information before sharing.
- Include your supervisor's requirements, scoring instructions for questionnaires and the required table format.

What determines the quote?
An SPSS analysis quote depends on data preparation, the number of research questions, model complexity and reporting requirements. Participant count alone does not define the workload. Agree on outputs and revision scope when requesting a quote.
Questions before you begin
Do I need to choose a statistical test first?
No. Methods can be assessed from your research question, measurement scales and study design. If you already have an analysis plan, include it in your request.
Is an SPSS output file enough?
Output tables may not explain coding decisions or the research context. Reanalysis or a detailed review may also require the dataset, variable definitions and previous analysis steps.
